Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Octava Capital company
Oleksandr Kardakov began his business history being a student. While studying at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (KPI), he was developing electronics gadgets at the university laboratory.
Oleksandr Kardakov built his first business with a solder in his hand, in the truest sense of the word. In 1990, together with other KPI graduators he set up Information Computer Systems (ICS). The company was specialized on automation of radioelectronic industry, and Oleksandr Kardakov was connected technological equipment to computers by his own. Parallel to informational technologies, the businessman was generated assets in other spheres: telecommunications (Datagroup), distribution (Megatrade) etc.
Transferring the businesses management to the team of experienced executives, Oleksandr Kardakov is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Octava Capital managing company since 2009. In parallel the businessman is engaged into social activities. His foundation “Osvitni Initiatyvy” was initiated a number of training programs for talented young people and IT-specialists.
Oleksandr Kardakov is among the top 100 of the richest and the most influential people in Ukraine. In 2003 he received the award “Person of the Year” in the nomination “For the greatest contribution to the development of the systems integration market”. Since 2005 Mr. Kardakov is one of ten the most successful managers of Ukraine, and in 2006, 2007 and 2008 leads in “The best top-manager of Ukraine” rating (Companion Magazine version). Awarded by the status “Person of the Year 2007” (readers’ choice of Computer Review Weekly (“Kompyuternoe Obozrenie” weekly magazine) as a person who has influenced the development of the IT market in Ukraine.
Oleksandr Kardakov is a versatile personality. Among his interests are travelling with elements of extreme, skiing, fishing.
